When it comes to great marketing, Andrew Davis is part entertainer, part evangelist and all educator. He is a speaker and an author and he also recently taught a seminar at our Niche Digital Conference in Nashville. Drew is always a big hit. Did you catch his appearance on the Today Show last week?
So how many of us are trying to keep up with the latest happenin’ stuff in the web world and don’t know where to start?
Drew Davis has created a great, comprehensive list complete with ratings and posted it on his blog. It encompasses the latest technology in presentations, television, music, audio, search tools, video, infographics—even print. Plus there happens to be 52 new tools–so you can learn a new one every week.
We checked out a few on the list for ourselves.
Of course we were drawn to DuckDuckGo, a new search tool with a very high rating. Tech Crunch calls it a “hybrid search engine,” where simplicity is key and users are not profiled, thus avoiding the filter bubble.
DigiMarc brings print to digital life, among all the other things they do. We grabbed these neat magazine stats from their website:
- Among all types of media, magazines rank highest in triggering online searching.
- 75% of consumers feel that digital content complements — rather than replaces — print.
- 59% of magazine readers say they are driven to the web by articles, 57% by ads.
And then there’s Glossi.com, where creative types can open a free account and create, then “publish” their own magazine covers. Too fun. Their tagline is “Your Passion on Display.” (I’m working on one called Grand Poobah Takes Manhattan….)
Thanks, Drew! We can hardly wait to see what you do next.
