Fresh out of fresh e-newsletter ideas?
Try these!

Not getting the e-newsletter subscribers you want? Do you feel like the whole thing needs a re-vamp but you don’t have a lot of time, energy or resources?

Don’t fret. Don’t sweat. Here are 10 easy tips to make your e-newsletter better:

1. Create PDF sample files of your e-newsletters rather than forwarding a sample, ensuring the graphics look right.

2. Test and re-test all your e-Newsletters on all mobile devices.

3. Develop a list of  partners that may pay to gain exposure to that e-list.  Then create a plan to email them often with opportunities.

4. Summarize! Use bullet-point lists with small, limited pictures to make your e-newsletter more read-able and to increase user interaction.

5. Worry more about the content than the design.  Content almost always trumps design.

6. Try a daily send for one week to really push an issue or promotion. Measure what worked, what didn’t.

7. Use your stats. Examine your e-newsletter’s send vs. open results based on day and time of day.  Do a little background research to drive interaction and conversions.

8. Place links to video in your e-newsletter.  Do not make the video an embedded feature. Instead use a graphical link to YouTube or Vimeo.

9. Schedule your e-newsletters based on topic sets like legal, new products, marketing ideas, etc.  Then find partners looking to target that audience too.

10. Your e-List is Marketing Gold.  Protect against sponsors that are not a good fit for your readers—no matter the price.

P.S. If you really want to pump up the life in your e-newsletter, learn and get inspired from leading experts and network with other niche publishing types like yourself, you might want think about attending the Niche Digital Conference this fall in Nashville.
